Sunday Supper: 05/14/23

This week's "Sunday Supper" toasts Mother's Day with songs by Laura Nyro, Suzanne Vega, Brandi Carlile, the Wainwright siblings, Loudon and Sloan, and others. We'll also have a session with dutiful daughter and talented singer-songwriter Alice Howe, joined in the studio with bassist/producer Freebo, sharing songs and stories about recording her new album, Circumstance, in Muscle Shoals.

Also on tap: Josh Ritter's new release, Spectral Lives, and new music from Joe Crookston, Robinson & Rohe, Dan Tyminski, Nefesh Mountain, and more. Plus a few songs about brothers (not just mothers) by Carole King, Reggie Garrett, and Peter, Paul & Mary, and standbys from The Kennedys, Steve Earle, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Mama does allow it from 4-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and streaming online, as well as on demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, and the maternal smart speaker of your choice.
