On Your Radar - April 18, 2023

On Your Radar is back at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 - Enter on Orchard Street

Jaimee Harris’s sophomore effort Boomerang Town marks a bold step forward for this country-folk-leaning singer-songwriter with a powerful voice. It is an arresting, ambitious song-cycle that explores the generational arc of family, the stranglehold of addiction, and the fragile ties that bind us together as Americans. Born in Texas, living in Nashville, Harris began Boomerang Town at a time of great loss for many. It was from the intersection of social, personal, and political currents that the album was born. http://www.jaimeeharris.com/

If you ask Reese Fulmer about himself, he'll tell you he's a brand-new soul. But his songs tell a different story, with a clear eye and poetic touch, of a conduit to something much older and deeper. With a fluid lineup of versatile and talented players in his Saratoga Springs-based Carriage House Band, Reese’s music is reminiscent of the early work of Josh Ritter or Iron & Wine.

If you like Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlisle and crying in public, you’re going to love Girl Blue. Writing deeply emotional songs with strong singable hooks, singer/songwriter Arielle O’Keefe has been the recipient of 7 Thomas Edison Music Awards, twice awarded both Songwriter of the Year and Solo Artist of the year. It’s been said “she…has the kind of spark that makes stars” (The Alt), and most especially as a live performer she has an authenticity that regularly moves audience members to tears.
