Having pulled off our first virtual On Your Radar in June, we're tossing caution to the wind and trying it again in July with a far-flung lineup: the sweet-voiced duo from Guelph, Ontario, Tragedy Ann; the veteran Chicago troubadour Mark Dvorak; and the dynamic Irish-American singer Siobhán O'Brien. Expect the customary 30-minute sets, but from home, with a little Q&A in between. We had more than 2000 views first time, so mark your calendar. And consider helping us boost subscribers to John Platt's On Your Radar YouTube channel.

Tragedy Ann is a forward-looking folk duo from Guelph, Ontario. With intimacy and care, Liv Cazzola and Braden Phelan favor a flashlight over a spotlight in songs for community, nature, and hardworking hospital staff. Braiding organic vocal harmonies with accordion, singing saw, guitars, and ukulele, Tragedy Ann's arrangements are as delicate as they are driving. Performing across Canada, continental Europe and in the USA, Tragedy Ann concerts emanate "...the honesty and enthusiasm of people who can't help but create and perform." (Jon Farmer, Georgian Bay Roots).

The Chicago Tribune has called Mark Dvorak "masterful," and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as "a living archive of song and style." Dubbed "Chicago's official troubadour" on WFMT's Midnight Special, he has given concerts in nearly all of the United States and has made visits to Ireland, Finland, and Canada. He has recorded eighteen albums including Let Love Go On this year and has won awards for journalism, children's music, and in 2013 received the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International. Award.

Limerick (Ireland) native Siobhán O'Brien relocated to the DC metro area in May 2017 and recorded her new album in Austin. Other career highlights include being invited on stage by Bob Dylan (after an impromptu street audition earlier that day) and performing as a guest vocalist for The Chieftains at Boston Symphony Hall. "While inspired by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen, Ms. O'Brien composes personal, heartfelt songs, fused with vulnerability & poignancy."
