VIDEO PREMIERE: Orly Bendavid's "Hope is a Traitor"

Orly Bendavid is a musician and psychotherapist from Brooklyn. When I heard her unreleased song “Hope is a Traitor” on a NERFA panel last fall, it made a deep impression on me, and I invited her to perform at On Your Radar in January. It’s to be the title track of a forthcoming EP, but she has produced this video of the song, which the New Folk Initiative is honored to exclusively present today. You can hear why she has “the soul of a poet and the heart of a warrior.”
